Sport and PE at Wyvern

Wyvern_222

At Wyvern, our aim is to support children to grow in confidence and develop their skills in all areas of PE.  All teaching staff empower pupils to lead a healthy, active lifestyle, providing opportunities for all to compete in sport and other adventurous activities, in turn building character muscles such as confidence, teamwork, fairness, leadership and respect. Our curriculum allows pupils to develop their skills in many different sports and builds on previous skills. Our aim is also to give every child the opportunity to experience competition before they leave Wyvern.

Competitions and Festivals 2022-23

Hockey

Everyone at Wyvern is super proud of the Year 5/6 hockey team, who won the local competition at Soar Valley School against five other primary schools.  The children demonstarted the spirit of the games values of self belief and teamwork!  Well done to all the children and staff involved.

Welcome back Health and Wellbeing event

Some of our Year 3/4 children visited the Goals Soccer Centre to take part in a Health and Well-being event.  The children had a go at cricket, tennis and capture the flag.  Whilst playing with children from other schools they demonstrated the spirit of the games value of passion.
